Are you interested in tackling climate change in Redbridge? Be part of the Redbridge Climate Forum where you can meet and share ideas with others in the network, helping identify ways local communities, groups and individuals can work together with the Council to make Redbridge greener and cleaner.

Since launching in September 2021, The Redbridge Climate Forum has been a platform for bringing local communities together in the fight against climate change. With 70 members and growing, forum participants exchange ideas and highlight work taking place to support greener living and working in Redbridge.

Join the next Climate Forum meeting on Tuesday 3 October at Pankhurst Hall, at the Woodford Parish Church Memorial Halls, 209 High Road, South Woodford, E18 2PA.

The forum kicks off at 6.30pm with an update on Redbridge’s Climate Change Action Plan from Cabinet Member for Environment and Sustainability, Cllr Jo Blackman.

You can also find out about the borough’s ‘Reduction and Recycling Plan’ for waste for 2023-25, along with news from hosts at St Mary’s Church about their progress on the sustainability agenda, and from a forum member who successfully received funding for a community project from the Council’s ‘Spacehive’ scheme.

There are also plenty of opportunities for questions during an interactive Q&A session, and Council Officers will also be on hand to help advise on funding streams for community eco-projects.

Cabinet Member for Environment and Civic Pride Cllr Jo Blackman said: “There is a lot of good work already taking place in Redbridge to make our borough cleaner and greener, both through the Council and local communities. Redbridge’s Climate Forum is a great way to showcase those efforts, and bring ideas, people and projects together, in a way that can make a real, and lasting impact towards tackling climate change in Redbridge. By acting together to address the causes and impacts of climate change we can make our borough a better place to live, work and visit.”

The forum runs 6.30pm to 8pm, is free to attend, and is open to all local people, businesses and community groups.

There will be lots of opportunities for networking, learning and ideas sharing with other active, eco-minded groups and individuals in the borough, as well as finding out more about local green projects and how to get involved.

You don’t need to have attended any previous forums to take part and you don’t need to register – just simply turn up.

Light refreshments and drinks will be provided so don’t forget to bring along a reusable cup!
