Transport services

From our modern (3,000 m2) well equipped IRTE Accredited Workshop, our staff are fully skilled Irtec licensed technicians using the latest diagnostic equipment. We provide MOT testing, services and repairs as well as being a Ford authorised repairer and ATF for larger vehicles.

We are an accredited training centre offering Driver Certificate of Professional Competence courses to drivers and fleet operators.

 

Passenger Transport Service

Redbridge Transport Service was formed in 1988, bringing together the then separate Education and Social Services Passenger operations and at the same time centralising the vehicle fleet. The Passenger Transport Service operates daily 266 routes, undertakes in excess of 25,000 passenger movements per week, throughout the year, with more during the summer months when they undertake a significant number of journeys for private customers. 


MOT testing

We can do MOT (classes 4, 5 and 7- below), routine services and inspections, supply and fitment of tyres (including wheel balancing), body work and accident repair on:

  • cars
  • vans
  • mini buses
  • coaches
  • light commercial vehicles
  • heavy commercial vehicles

Technician accreditation

We are an approved assessment centre for Institute of Road Transport Engineers Certification (irtec) which is focused on commercial vehicle, trailer and passenger carrying industries.

Accreditation is a voluntary assessment of an individual’s current competence against accepted industry standards.

All of the accreditations offered have been developed in conjunction with the sector to enable assessment of technicians knowledge and competence at benchmark career levels.

For larger vehicles (Heavy Goods Vehicle and Passenger Carrying Vehicle) testing is done under the ATF scheme

Tachograph and Speed Limiters

In our workshop, we are able to install and calibrate Tachograph equipment 

We can also install or adjust the speed limiter fitted to your vehicle.

Driver Certificate of Professional Competence Training 

We provide the JAUPT certified courses for the Drivers CPC 35 hours accreditation.

First aid

Seven hour Driver CPC accredited Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW). On completion candidates will receive both DCPC and First Aid Awards (FAA) qualification. (We also provide a full First Aid at Work 3 day qualification).

Safer City Driving

Seven hour Driver CPC accredited course focusing on large vehicle driving in the modern city including route planning and Driver Health and Wellbeing.

LoCity Driving

Seven hour Driver CPC approved course that focuses on minimising the environmental impact of HGVs (and PCV) by reducing emissions through the use of fuel-efficient driving techniques, route planning and alternative fuels.

Safer Urban Driving (SUD)

The SUD course raises awareness of vulnerable road users in London with a focus on cyclists, including a practical on-road cycle training element to give you, ‘the driver’, experience from a cyclists perspective.

Knowledge of drivers hours rules and regulations, rational driving

Seven hour Driver CPC approved course on all aspects of driver hours including EU regulations, working time directive and domestic hours. The course includes tachograph use and record keeping.

Minibus drivers and passenger assistant schemes

We also provide the Minibus drivers awareness Scheme (MiDAS) and Passenger Assistant Training Scheme (PATS).
