Change schools for Year 10 

If your child is in Year 9, it's important to be aware of the different school options available for Year 10. 

Most students will stay at their current school. But some students might prefer a more technical or hands-on way of learning. 

There are two types of schools that take students in Year 10: 

• University Technical Colleges (UTCs) 
• Studio Schools 

UTCs work with universities and businesses. They teach normal subjects like English and Maths, plus one or two technical subjects like engineering or IT. 

Studio Schools are also linked to employers. They mix classroom learning with real work experience and personal support. They also teach normal school subjects.
