RYS term-time sessions
Monday
From 5pm to 6.45pm - Redbridge Youth Council Meeting at Redbridge Town Hall
This weekly session is open to all young people in Redbridge. If you like to spend your time learning new skills and are passionate about making a positive change in Redbridge please join us. For more details contact Simeon at Redbridge Youth Council

Future Focus Fun
Monday 30 June to Thursday 17 July at Hainault Youth Centre
Are you aged 16–18, just finished your exams, and not currently in college, work, or training?
If so, we can help you build the skills you need for your next steps.
Join our Future Focus & Fun Programme, a three week course designed to support your future plans and develop essential life skills. Our dedicated team will help you grow in confidence, gain new experiences, and prepare for what’s next.
What you’ll gain:
- 1-day Emergency First Aid certificate – great for your CV (limited spaces)
- 1:1 session with Connexions Careers Service – get help with CVs, interview skills, and career guidance
- Group activities and support from our friendly youth workers
- Workshops on teamwork, leadership, and money management
- Sessions to boost self-esteem, motivation, and confidence
- lunch provided during our cooking session, plus a Food & Hygiene Level 2 certificate
- Fun activities and a day trip (limited spaces) at no cost to young people.

Summer HAF
Hainault Youth Centre
The Redbridge Holiday Activities and Food programme is being provided to enable eligible primary and secondary aged children and young people to access the following during the school holidays: daily physical activity, enriching activities & nutritional education. Children and young people who took part in last year’s programme had a great time and made new friends too. Hainault Youth Centre will be running HAF sessions for young people from year 7, up to the age of 18, starting on Monday 28 July and ending on Thursday 21 August. You can book online with HAF
Activities will include:
- Workshops, including cooking and healthy eating
- Sports, including football, basketball and box fit
- Lyric writing
- Arts and crafts
- Tournaments
Are you eligible to attend?
You will need to meet the following criteria:
- Be eligible for, and in receipt of, Free School Meals (not including those accessing universal entitlement for Free School Meals unless they also meet the eligibility criteria for FSM)
- If a young person is considered vulnerable, they can be referred by a member of Redbridge Youth Service staff.
Spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Once we have confirmed you are eligible to attend and that a place is available, we will confirm the details with you or your parent/carer if they sign up on your behalf.
We will also share your information, including the medical health plan and/or protocol (where applicable) with the third-party organisation that will be responsible for offering the activities. For more information, please contact the HAF team.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The Duke of Edinburgh's award, also known as DofE, is a life-changing adventure you don’t want to miss.
It’s about going the extra mile! Learning new skills for work and life, getting fitter, making a difference and broadening your horizons. The coronavirus doesn’t mean your DofE needs to stop. You can start your volunteering, physical and skills sections from home or remotely using the DofE website
There are various levels of programme which when completed lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold DofE Award, check our DofE page for more information and information on how to enrol.
Detached Team
We work with you, the young people of Redbridge on the streets, estates and parks, who are not accessing existing youth services in Redbridge. Email Youth Service for more information.
Other ways to get involved
There are many venues across Redbridge open for young people aged from 7 to 19 years to visit.
Get involved in sport activities, including boxing, basketball and table tennis.
Our youth club at Hainault Youth Centre not only provides workshops and sessions, but also provides additional support with homework as well as advice and guidance.
Vision provide many activities and services for young people. This Summer they are running their popular mega mix programme. The programme includes taster sessions on the following: arts and crafts, dance, drama, and roller skating, amongst other things. Have a look and see what interests you! They have a Sports Club Directory and a number of regular activities which include musical theatre and youth fitness sessions.
ELOP provides a range of social activities for young people in the LGBTQ+ community. Activities include mentoring, youth clubs and more.

- Youth Groups for 15-18's - online every Tuesday from 7pm to 8.30pm
- Free 1-2-1 online mentoring. You can refer yourself or another young person

Loxford Youth Centre
Welcome to Loxford Youth Centre! We are currently open Tuesdays and Thursdays 3.30pm to 6.30pm.
We offer a targeted range of activities for 11 to 18-year-olds.
Over the next few weeks, we have projects targeted to young people including:
Homework club
This is an opportunity for young people to have time as well as resources to catch up on any homework/revision after school.
Music production
Young people learning how to write their own music, help structure music they have already written, recording vocals, and mixing and mastering their music to a professional industry standard.
With a studio engineer who has over 23 years’ experience with music production and engineering and has worked with a few known artists in the music industry.
Cooking
Young people will learn about food safety and hygiene as well as learning how to prepare a variety of meals for themselves and others. Young people will learn about the benefits of healthy eating as well as cooking on a budget.
Sports activities
Young people will participate in various sports activities to develop teamwork and leadership skills as well as keeping fit.
