Young People Friendly (YPF) Services for you in Redbridge
We know, as a young person, there may be so many things that you may be anxious and worried about. We don’t want your sexual health to be one of them. On this page you will find information about, and links to, free and confidential sexual health services.
YPF is a scheme operated as an advice and support service for young people in Redbridge and is managed by Redbridge Youth Service. It was created to ensure sexual health services are easier for young people to find and use. It enables services to take a friendly approach towards young people. If a service displays the green YPF logo above in the window or door, it means that the place has been checked by us and young people. It also means the staff have been trained to make sure the service they give you is:
- Youth friendly and accessible
- Professional and non-judgemental
- Free and confidential
Young people can access condoms, via the C-Card at all our YPF approved sites.
Our approved pharmacies also offer free Chlamydia Screening and the EHC, which you may know as the morning after pill. The EHC is a tablet you can take up to 72 hours after unprotected sex, i.e. no contraception used or condom split, to help prevent pregnancy. This is available free from any pharmacy displaying the blue EHC logo, as shown above.
The YPF service is confidential and you can walk in and access services at any site displaying the green YPF logo. Unless they are very concerned about your safety, they won't tell anybody that you have used the service. Even if you are under 16. Some YPF sites display posters which explain how confidentiality works there. If you are worried, you can ask the person serving you what will happen about any conversations you have with them or information you may give them.
We ask young people to mystery shop all of our YPF sites annually so that they can retain the YPF approval logo.

Help and Support Services
We know that good relationships need to be based on trust, friendship, pleasure and consent. However, sometimes things don’t work out the way you planned. Whatever has happened in your relationship you must always remember there is help and support available to you if you need it.
You can get support from Hainault Youth Centre. There you will find youth workers that can offer help and advice. You can also sign up to the C-Card and get access to free condoms.
Remember you can always talk to a member of staff at school, such as your teacher, if you need help or support. You can also talk to an adult you know that you trust and feel comfortable talking to. Whoever you choose to talk to, please do it as soon as possible. The sooner you talk to someone the sooner you can get the help and support that you need.
You can get additional help and support from the services below. If you contact a service and you are worried about confidentiality and how your information will be used, ask the person you are speaking with to explain their policy.
